What are Supersprings?
Supersprings are a unique and patented self-adjusting suspension stabilizing system for vehicles with rear leaf springs, designed to level heavy loads and reduce body roll.
Supersprings provide end users with extra load support without compromising ride quality.
They are manufactured using a variety of different sized springs to support multiple applications. All Supersprings are manufactured in the U.S.A. from SAE5160H high grade, shot peened steel.
Supersprings are designed with various shackle lengths. The shackles will have 1, 2, or 3 bolt holes and the bolt holes allow for adjustment on the Supersprings. The higher the bolt location the more pre-load tension on the Superspring, this is useful for applications with uneven loads on one side of the vehicle like heavy equipment, tools, generators etc.
These bolt holes and the varying positions can also be changed by the user to accommodate varying ride quality preferences.
Are Supersprings the same as other brands of helper Springs like Ironman or Sax?
Supersprings are unique and feature a tapered blade that increases tension applied as the load force increases and also releases the tension if the load is removed.
The other products on the market have the load force applied 100% of the time when fitted and can reduce ride quality
What about Supersprings VS Airbags and bellows kits?
Supersprings need no adjustment once fitted and eliminate the issue of too much or not enough pressure to hold the required loads. As the Superspring product fixes to the existing leaf springs there is no issue with chassis cracking on overloaded vehicles – a common problem with airbag kits that are fixed to a single point on the chassis.
What about vehicle compliance issues?
Supersprings fit within the existing factory leaf springs and don’t change the function of the ESC and stability control systems on the vehicle when fitted.
As they are a bolt on and 100% removable they don’t come under any requirement for Australian Design Rules applicable to vehicle modification.
How long do Supersprings last?
We warrant the Superspring for 12 months from date of install against defects and breakage– full list of replacement parts are available to refresh the rollers and bushes on the Superspring kit.
We have happy customers running these for many years trouble free.
Can I transfer these to my next Vehicle?
Yes – the Superspring can be transferred to a similar vehicle if a customer’s fleet is updated, depending on the condition of the previous vehicle and the loads it has carried.
When is Superspring not suitable?
Sometimes a customer presents a vehicle that has had existing loads beyond what is considered normal and the factory springs are already sagged beyond the point of requiring replacement.
Supersprings are not magic and will not revive a dead spring pack.
If the proposed constant loads are likely to exceed the rating of the Superspring 700kg + it may be better to suggest full HD suspension upgrade.
The weight rating for Supersprings is determined by additional accessories fitted including the tray and body. Supersprings do not increase the GVM!
Who is the Ideal Superspring customer?
Fleet and maintenance workers, City and Regional council vehicles, Transport Divisions and the energy sector, Grey nomad tourers , Farming and Primary Producers, Electrical contractors and other blue collar customer divisions.
How much do Supersprings cost and what are the options for fitment?
Supersprings are available in 3 different specifications- Light (400kg) heavy (500kg) and extra heavy (700kg) the average price for the heavy kit is $595 and fitting time is listed as 30 mins per side.
