Upfitter is proud to announce the partnership with The Australian Partners of Defence (APOD). APOD is a group dedicated to supporting veterans and their families time and money in appreciation of the sacrifices they have made by aggregating deals from some of Australia's leading retailers. APOD was established in 2012 and has become a significant player in the Australian defence industry, providing a wide range of products and services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and other government agencies.

How APOD started?

The APOD started when two Australian Defence Force wives with deployed husbands found nothing exclusively for military personnel and their families amongst the myriad of discount programs available. With the belief that serving your country should have its rewards, they set out to change this for the Australian Defence community.

The pair launched Australian Partners of Defence (APOD) a year later. Since then, APOD has grown into Australia's most extensive Defence discount program, with over 10,000 discounts sourced in 5 years of operation.

One of the key priorities of the APOD is to help build a strong and sustainable defence industry in Australia. This is achieved through several initiatives and programs, such as training and development opportunities for defence industry employees and fostering collaboration between companies and between the defence industry and government agencies.

Importantly, APOD doesn't turn a profit through its members. In addition to being self-funded, a portion of every membership fee is donated to their partner charities Mates4Mates and Legacy, to help support Defence families in need. Any profits made by APOD are used to improve the program to provide greater benefit to members. Their aim is to provide a service to the Defence community that did not previously exist.

How to redeem from APOD?

Offers can be redeemed in a variety of ways, depending on the business and product:

Online Offers

Online offers are redeemed via the APOD website APOD.com.au when the member

clicks on the business offer page and follow the instructions to open the business' website and apply the promotional code, if applicable.

In-Store Offers

Customers may present the APOD member card in physical or digital form, or as a printable APOD voucher. The APOD card has a unique, scannable barcode which is also displayed on the member's mobile device against their digital Veteran Card.

Other Types of Offers

Other types of offers may require members to validate their APOD membership over the phone or via email by providing their member number or a code as specified on the business offer page on the APOD website APOD.com.au.
